- Principal’s Biographic Note
- Mr. Vander Lugt is beginning his tenth year at CHS. Prior to coming to Cascade, he served as the secondary principal at Wapello, Iowa for three years. Before moving to Iowa in 1996, he served as a teacher, coach, principal, and athletic director for fifteen years in Western South Dakota.
- Born in Washington State and raised in South Dakota, Greg Vander Lugt attended Northern State University and earned a bachelors degree with a history major in 1980 and masters in administration in 1986.
- Mr. and Mrs. Vander Lugt live in Cascade and have two children. Mrs. Vander Lugt is an elementary teacher. Mr. Vander Lugt enjoys reading, movies, and the outdoors, anything to do with history and spending time with his family. A favorite pursuit is watching Cougar athletics, music, drama and activity performances.
- Mr. Vander Lugt enjoys his work immensely. He feels that great communities and great schools go hand in hand. “The parents, community, teachers, staff, administration and students work together to make CHS an effective and caring learning environment”.
