CHS
Band Program
Cascade High School has a long tradition of excellence
in our band program. High school students participate in marching
band, jazz band, concert band, pep band and flags. Under the leadership of our new director, Mr. Tony Butterworth, the CHS band will focus on continuing it's tradition of excellence. Mrs. Sharla Schmidt works with grades 5-8 at Cascade Junior
High School and Cascade, Bernard and Aquin Elementaries. She has
a hard earned reputation for building outstanding foundation skills
in young people. Click here to visit the Cougar Band Website.
Cascade
Vocal Music Program
The CHS vocal program is directed by Mrs. Billie
Jean Barth. Mrs. Barth, a talented vocalist in her own right,
has produced
a series of excellent concerts in past years. Her dinner theater
is an eagerly awaited event each year. Mrs. Barth also
produces
a junior high play in the spring.
Cascade
Dance Team
Our dance team is regionally recognized, having won
a series of state level competitions and won two recent national
titles. Our director, Mrs. Sue Knepper is the only director we
have had, having initiated the program and built it into the success
we see today. She is assisted by Ms. Jennifer Schmidt. The annual Jam the Gym competition held at CHS each
February is attended by hundreds of area enthusiasts.
CHS Art Department
Our students participate in the Tri-Rivers Art Show
each spring. Top students from the 12 conference schools display
their work and refine their art through discussion with other artists
and teachers. Mrs. Donna Marxen is our art teacher.
CHS
Drama Department
The CHS drama program, under it's legendary director,
Mr. Bob Davidshofer, continues to pack the house each fall and spring.
With a brand new venue in the Ellen Kennedy Fine Arts Center, their
efforts will continue to shine for many years. The auditorium, built
by the CARE Foundation and Western Dubuque Schools, saw it's opening
performance, "Oklahoma" in April of 2004. Mr. Davidshofer
is assisted by Donna Marxen, Junelle Benter, Tony Butterworth and Jamie Knepper.
CHS
Speech Program
The CHS speech program is headed by Mrs. Angela Manternach,
assisted by Ms. Shelly Knepper.
Cascade speech has produced numerous All-State performers over the
years including Peter O'Brien who won the state banner in unprecedented
back to back performances in 2002 and 2003.
